Just as fall leaves change color, our clinic turns pink to focus on Breast Cancer Awareness. We are surrounded by pink ribbons, shirts, scarves, cookies, and even pink hearing aids.
Diagnosed in 2012, Lynn Creel now celebrates five years of being cancer free. Family, friends and patients have continued to rally around her for which she will always be grateful. Now Creel Hearing Center supports Cancer Crusaders, a local non-profit organization. Founded in 1976 as a volunteer organization Cancer Crusaders has made great strides to support local cancer research. Since 1978, more than $4 million dollars has been donated to both Tulane Cancer Center and LSU Health Science Center. In 2015, Cancer Crusaders honored Mrs. Creel as a cancer survivor at their annual fundraiser.
Creel Hearing Center began supporting Cancer Crusaders with an initial donation of $500. Since then our practice holds an annual drive every October dedicating $100 of every hearing aid purchase to Cancer Crusaders. We have been delighted to donate $1,100 in 2016 and $1,600 in 2017.
We will once again earmark $100 per purchase with anticipation that our contributions will make a positive impact in the cure for cancer. You are also invited to make a small contribution on your own in lieu of a hearing purchase. All monetary contributions are dedicated to our local community research institutions.
